DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on Wednesday that Al Rayyan Club will represent Qatar in the 2025–2026 season of the Gulf Champions League. The decision, shared via the QFA’s official X account, follows Al Rayyan’s fifth-place finish in the 2024–2025 QNB Stars League.
Al Rayyan joins a competitive lineup of seven other clubs from across the region: Al Shabab (Saudi Arabia), Al Ain (UAE), Al Qadsia (Kuwait), Al Nahda (Oman), Zakho (Iraq), Al Tadhamun Hadramout (Yemen), and Sitra (Bahrain).
The tournament is set to begin in October, with a group-stage draw to determine the two groups. The top two teams from each group will move on to the semifinals.
The previous edition of the Gulf Champions League saw Iraq’s Duhok Club claim the title after a dramatic win over Kuwait’s Al Qadsia in the final. Al Rayyan will now look to make their mark on the regional stage in the upcoming campaign.
