OCA, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 team visit Lusail ahead of Qatar National Sports Day Fun Run

DOHA: A delegation from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Organising Committee paid a field visit to Lusail Boulevard as part of preparations for the Fun Run to be held under the auspices of the OCA to mark Qatar National Sports Day on Tuesday.

The visit by the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 delegation comes within the framework of the OCA’s Asian Games for All campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the Asian Games and highlight its promotional activities and programmes.

The OCA delegation included Director of Media Mubarak Al Buainain, Director of Media and Broadcasting Jian Zhou, Technology and Information Systems Department video and photography supervisor Ramiredi Kona, and Head of Sports Management Degant Tiwari.

The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Organising Committee delegation comprised Acting Director General Yasuhiro Nakamori and Public Relations Department member Manami Okumura.

During the visit, Ahmed Al Jaber, Head of the Technical Committee for the Qatar Olympic Committee’s 2026 Half Marathon, briefed the delegation on the one-kilometre Fun Run for children.

The presentation covered the start and finish areas, organisational and safety arrangements, and the services provided to participants.The visit forms part of a series of promotional tours being conducted by the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Organising Committee across several Asian countries, aimed at broadening participation and ensuring strong engagement ahead of the Games.

The Asian Games will be held in Japan from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4, with organisers seeking to present the event as a platform for fair competition and for strengthening ties among nations across the continent.
