Ashour, Gaultier pull out of Qatar Classic
Former champion Ramy Ashour, has pulled out of the upcoming Professional Squash Association's (PSA) Qatar Classic tournament after failing to recover from the hamstring injury which forced him to retire midway through the World Championship final in Cairo last week.
The injury will also dent Ashour's hopes of being one of the eight qualifiers for the season-ending Dubai PSA World Series Finals as he will be unable to accrue vital points on the Road to Dubai Standings where he currently sits in third place.
The PSA Qatar Classic tournament which begins on Friday acts as the third stage on the PSA Road to Dubai.
Ashour's withdrawal comes just a day after world No.2 Gregory Gaultier was forced to pull out of the PSA tournament after he damaged his ankle during his World Championship quarterfinal fixture with Tarek Momen.
