Al Gharafa face Al Ahli in AFC Champions League today

Doha: Al Gharafa will be hoping to win their back-to-back matches at home when they face table-toppers Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli in a Group A fixture of the AFC Champions League here on Monday.

Recent signing Mehdi Taremi scored his second and third goals of the current campaign in a 3-0 victory over Tractorsazi Tabriz two weeks ago as Gharafa recovered from their opening-day loss to Al Jazira to put their first points on the board.

At the other end, Ahli started on a confident note, winning two from as many matches, and a third win in a row would edge them towards knockout stage qualification.

The teams had faced each other for the last time in 2013 group stage here, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
