Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani participates in National Sports Day
DOHA: His Highness Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani participated in the activities of the 11th National Sport Day, which was observed today.
The Emir walked at the Al Bayt Stadium Park’s walkway along with a number of primary schools students to raise awareness among young people of the importance of sport and encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles and take care of physical fitness.
The Park has green spaces surrounding the entire Al Bayt Stadium, which is scheduled to host the opening match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The National Sport Day was started in 2012 to promote a healthy lifestyle and create awareness about fitness among the people in the country.
The philosophy which was envisioned by Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani a decade ago now runs deep in the Qatari society as sports participation has become a way of life for the citizens and residents.
