Moto3 Qatar Test: Masia breaks lap record at Losail Circuit Sports Club

DOHA: Jaume Masia of Red Bull KTM Ajo set up a new unofficial lap record of 2:04.263 in the Moto3 Qatar Test on the third day at the Losail Circuit Sports Club on Sunday.

The Spaniard’s lap time erased the circuit record set by Aron Canet’s 2:04.561 in 2019 by a massive 0.298 on the circuit. 

His team-mate Pedro Acosta, a rookie to the class and 2020 Red Bull Rookies champion, finished 0.306 behind Masia with a lap time just 0.008 from Canet’s lap record.

Junior Moto3 world champion Dennis Foggia on Leopard Honda occupied third spot and finished ahead of Izan Guevara.
