Qatar Equestrian Tour 2026: Region’s largest equestrian event set to begin in January

DOHA: The Qatar Equestrian Tour 2026, the region’s premier equestrian event, has been officially announced, featuring 10 five-star international championships with a total prize pool of €10 million. The tour will run from January 1 to April 4, 2026, bringing together top riders and horses from around the world.
The season kicks off with the HH the Father Emir Equestrian Tour (Jan 1-31), followed by the HH the Emir’s Sword International Equestrian Festival (Feb 12-14), which will include show jumping and dressage events. The prestigious CHI Al Shaqab presented by Longines (Feb 19-21) will feature show jumping, dressage, and para-dressage competitions. The Longines Global Champions Tour (March 5-7) will showcase elite show jumping, while the season concludes with the Doha International Equestrian Tour (March 12 – April 4), spanning three international circuits.
At the official announcement held at Al Shaqab, Bader bin Mohammed Al Darwish, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, emphasized Qatar’s commitment to becoming a global hub for equestrian sports. “With world-class infrastructure, we aim to set a benchmark in hosting major equestrian championships,” he stated.
Tour Director Mohammed Jaber Al Khayarin highlighted Al Shaqab’s top-tier facilities and Qatar’s reputation for safety, ensuring a seamless experience for participants and fans. “Our goal is to make Qatar the heart of global equestrianism,” he affirmed.
With its state-of-the-art venues, seamless logistics, and a growing equestrian legacy, the Qatar Equestrian Tour 2026 promises to be a landmark event in the international equestrian calendar.
