Amir crowns Gulf Cup champions Bahrain
Doha, Qatar: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani crowned Bahrain, the winners of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup, following their 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia at Al Duhail Stadium on Sunday.
HH the Amir handed the Bahraini players the gold medals and the championship's trophy and handed the silver medals to the Saudi players.
The crowning ceremony was attended by HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH the Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Also, the ceremony was attended by HE President of the Asian Football Confederation Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers and heads of the Gulf Olympic committees and federations, Their Excellencies heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to the State, senior officials in the sport field and a huge numbers of fans.
The crowning ceremony started with handing the championship awards in different categories, as Qatar national team won the fair play award, Saudi Arabian Fawaz Al Qarni won the best goalkeeper award, Saudi Arabian Abdullah Otayf won the best player award.
