Schools Olympic Program unveil Tamim Al Majd medals
Doha: The Organising Committee of the 11th Schools Olympic Program (SOP) unveiled the new medals design bearing the iconic Tamim Al Majd image.
The design was announced at a Press conference, which was attended by QSSF Secretary General Ali Ahmed Al Hitmi and QSSF Executive Director Abdulrahman Al Muftah, at the Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) Headquarters here on Wednesday.
“The new medals will foster patriotism among young students and increase their fighting spirit in the final competitions,” said Al Hitmi.
An estimated 400 schools are competing in 11 events including football, handball, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, swimming, athletics, table tennis, fencing, tennis and shooting.
The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with hundreds of student athletes competing from all over Qatar.
