Aspire Park’s skyline turns maroon and white in celebration of National Day

Doha: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) continued its Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations on Saturday by organising activities, including thrilling parasailing performances by the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) that left Aspire Park’s skyline bright with Qatar’s Maroon and White colours.
Lekhwiya also put on outstanding horses and police dogs shows.
It had demonstrations of various horse formations, and how trained police dogs react to threatening situations, such as how to stop a thief, nab a kidnapper, sniff drugs or expose bomb threats.
On the sidelines, AZF also organised group activities for children including basketball, football and a tug-of-war. People flocked to see and take part in the various activities making this year’s QND event a huge success.
AZF will continue its QND celebrations by collaborating with the Doha Film Institute (DFI) to display the ‘Dari Qatar’ Film at 5:15 pm on Sunday evening, at Aspire Park. After the movie, the DFI will choose the top five winners in the ‘short film’ competition that was launched earlier this month, where participants were asked to create films inspired by speeches from HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
