Aspire Academy students ready for Park Run Challenge

Doha: Aspire Zone Foundation's ‘Aspire Park Run Challenge’ will give recreational runners above the age of 12 a great opportunity to test their speed and stamina against Aspire Academy’s athletes.

The three and six-km races will be held at Aspire Park, behind the Coffeeshop Company. The first race will take place on Saturday and the second race will be held on December 2. The races will start at 7:30 am.

Commenting on the event, Nasser Abdullah Al-Hajri, Director of PR and Communications at AZF, said: "Aspire Zone always looks to diversify its community events to cater to all sports enthusiasts in Qatar and give them a chance to take part in their favourite sport. This event builds on the success of previous professional tournaments in Aspire Zone, such as the IAU 50 KM World Championship and the Aspire International 6:50 Race, which reflects the growing interests in running within the community in Qatar. The races are open for anyone above the age of 12, so friends and family members can make a fun family day out of it.

“The participation of Aspire Academy’s student-athletes makes the race more challenging and exciting. Recreational runners will be inspired and encouraged to push their limits and really test their potential when they see themselves competing alongside professional athletes.”
