Zubimendi stars as Arsenal sweep aside Forest

LONDON: Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates on Saturday, with Martin Zubimendi scoring twice and Viktor Gyokeres adding another to hand Ange Postecoglou defeat in his first game as Forest boss.
The Spaniard opened his Arsenal account in spectacular fashion, volleying home in the 32nd minute to cap a dominant first-half display. However, the Gunners suffered a setback when captain Martin Odegaard was forced off after a heavy fall on his right shoulder.
Just seconds into the second half, Eberechi Eze pounced on sloppy defending by Forest substitute Nicolo Savona and squared for Gyokeres, who tapped in his third goal of the season.
Zubimendi sealed the points in the 79th minute, heading in Leandro Trossard’s cross to spark jubilant chants from the home support directed at Postecoglou, the former Tottenham manager.
The result keeps Arsenal in strong early-season form, while Forest face an uphill task to adapt quickly under their new boss.
