Uzbekistan secures AFC U23 Asian Cup final berth with 2-0 victory over Indonesia

DOHA: In a thrilling semi-final clash at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, Uzbekistan showcased their prowess by defeating Indonesia 2-0, clinching their spot in the AFC U23 Asian Cup final for the third time in four editions. This victory not only propelled Uzbekistan to the finals but also guaranteed their participation in the upcoming Olympics.

Timur Kapadze, displaying a bold strategy, made six strategic changes to the Uzbekistan lineup, including goal-scorer Khusain Norchaev, setting the stage for a dynamic showdown. On the opposing side, Shin Tae-yong was forced to make three substitutions, with Ramadhan Sananta stepping in for the suspended Rafael Struick.

From the onset, Uzbekistan dominated the field, with Abbosbek Fayzullaev orchestrating plays from the center, leaving his marker Ivar Jenner struggling to contain his finesse and agility.
