Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay, a team with a storied history in the Copa America, having won the tournament a joint record 15 times, started the match with an impressive tempo. They were rewarded in the 16th minute when Maximilian Araujo fired a sublime curling shot from the edge of the area, putting Uruguay ahead.
