Umm Salal secure first three points with deserved win over Al Shahaniya

Umm Salal claimed a deserved 2–0 victory over Al Shahaniya in their Round 2 clash of the 2025–26 Doha Bank Stars League, played on Saturday evening at Al Bayt Stadium.

The first half ended with Umm Salal leading through a goal from Oussama Tannane in the 43rd minute. Just two minutes into the second half, Jean Kouassi doubled the advantage, and the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.

Under French coach Patrice Carteron, Umm Salal earned their first win of the season following defeat to Al Gharafa in the opening round. Meanwhile, Al Shahaniya, led by Spanish coach Santi Denia, suffered their first loss after drawing with Al Duhail in Round 1.

With this result, Umm Salal picked up their first three points of the campaign, while Al Shahaniya remain on a single point.
