Torres hat-trick powers Barcelona to 5-0 thrashing of Valencia

VALENCIA, Spain: Ferran Torres delivered a stunning performance, scoring a hat-trick within the first 30 minutes to lead Barcelona to a commanding 5-0 victory over Valencia in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on Thursday.

Playing in his hometown against his childhood club, Torres wasted no time, netting the opener just two minutes into the game following a swift counter-attack. He doubled the lead in the 17th minute, capitalizing on a rebound from a Lamine Yamal strike that hit the post.

Barcelona’s dominance continued as Fermin Lopez struck the third goal in the 22nd minute. Torres completed his hat-trick with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box at the half-hour mark, securing a four-goal advantage by halftime.

The Catalans eased off in the second half, but Yamal added a fifth goal in the 59th minute, thanks to a blunder by Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, whose mishandling of Yamal’s shot sent the ball into the net.

Barcelona’s emphatic win sends them confidently into the Copa del Rey semi-finals, with Torres emerging as the undisputed star of the night.
