DOHA – The Qatar Stars League (QSL) recently conducted a dialogue session with various media entities to announce the latest preparations for the upcoming 2024-2025 season of the QNB Stars League. The event was attended by Mr. Hassan Rabia Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communications; Dr. Ahmed Khalil Abbassi, Executive Director of Competitions and Football Development; Mr. Ahmed Salman Al-Adsani, Director of Competitions; and Mr. Nasser Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Head of Events, along with representatives from the media.

During the session, the latest updates and marketing and operational plans for the new season were presented. The event also addressed several queries from the media.

Mr. Hassan Rabia Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communications, began by welcoming all attendees and wishing everyone success in the upcoming football season. He praised the excellent cooperation from all partners, stakeholders, and club companies for their valued efforts on all fronts.

He continued, “Everyone has worked diligently to ensure a standout season. The promotional campaign has kicked off with the participation of several QNB Stars League stars. Additionally, electronic ticket sales have begun through the official website and app, which have seen improvements to enhance user experience. Payment and purchase options via Apple Pay and Google Pay have been added. I commend the progress made by club companies and their various initiatives and programs. We all work hand in hand with the goal of assisting them in marketing and promotion.”

Dr. Ahmed Khalil Abbassi expressed his excitement for the new season, anticipating strong and thrilling competitions, continuing from the excitement of the 2023-2024 season. He noted, “Statistics show a significant increase in the league’s market value since the start of the development project, rising from €150 million two seasons ago to €313 million currently, doubling the league’s value by 100% over two seasons. Regarding foreign professional signings, clubs, in cooperation with the QSL, completed their contracts with coaches and players well in advance of the season start, with 85% completed by July 10 and 98% by August 1. This ensures that clubs have signed the best available players in the global transfer market at reasonable financial values, positively impacting team performance and overall technical quality.”

Mr. Ahmed Al-Adsani confirmed that the stadiums are ready to host matches, following coordination between QSL teams, club companies, and relevant authorities. He added, “We aim to deliver a strong and exceptional season. The QFA Competitions Committee announced the calendar early, setting August 9, 2024, as the start date for the QNB Stars League, taking into account national team and club international participations. The first rounds will be held in World Cup stadiums. I extend my gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and Youth and Aspire Zone Foundation for their substantial cooperation.”

Mr. Nasser Mubarak Al-Kuwari highlighted various activities planned for the season, stating, “Promotional activities began on August 4 and will continue for five days at the Place Vendome Mall, featuring several QNB Stars League stars. A specific plan has been set to activate various marketing initiatives during the matches, in collaboration with some QSL partners and sponsors. These activities aim to encourage fan attendance and provide a memorable matchday experience.”
