Qatar announce 32-player squad for March camp as FIFA World Cup preparations intensify

DOHA: Qatar has unveiled a 32-man squad for a March training camp as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Qatar Football Association confirmed on Friday.
Head coach Julen Lopetegui has included four goalkeepers in the squad: Meshaal Barsham, Mahmoud Abunada, Shehab Al Laithi and Salah Zakaria.
Key outfield players selected include Akram Afif, Almoez Ali, Hassan Al Haydos, Pedro Miguel, Boualem Khoukhi, Karim Boudiaf and Lucas Mendes.
The squad also features Ahmed Al Ganehi, Ahmed Al Rawi, Anas Abdessalam, Ahmed Fatehi, Edmilson Junior, Ayoub Al Alawi, Ahmed Al Hassan, Al Hashmi Al Hussein, Bassam Al Rawi, Neil Mason, Assim Madibo, Khaled Ali, Issa Laye, Mohammed Khaled, Mohammed Al Mannai, Mubarak Shanan, Marwan Sherif, Mostafa Tarek, Homam Al Amin, Yusuf Abdurisag and Mohammed Waad.
The training camp forms a key part of Qatar’s build-up to the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Qatar have been drawn in Group B, where they will face Canada, Switzerland and the winner of the first European playoff path.
