Panama stuns USA with last-gasp goal to reach CONCACAF Nations League final

INGLEWOOD, California: The United States’ bid for a fourth consecutive CONCACAF Nations League title came to a shocking end as they fell 1-0 to Panama, courtesy of a stoppage-time goal from Cecilio Waterman on Thursday in Inglewood, California.
Despite the U.S. dominating possession, Panama defended resolutely and capitalized on a late American mistake. Waterman, who came off the bench, seized on a giveaway and fired a precise shot from the right side of the area into the bottom left corner, sealing a dramatic victory for Los Canaleros.
Panama will now face Mexico in Sunday’s final after El Tri secured a 2-0 win over Canada. Fulham forward Raul Jimenez played the hero, scoring both goals, including one inside the first minute after Roberto Alvarado’s shot deflected into his path.
The U.S. will now regroup for the third-place match against Canada, while Panama eyes their first-ever CONCACAF Nations League title.
