Napoli crowned Serie A champions in style with victory over Cagliari

NAPLES, Italy: Napoli sealed the Serie A title in emphatic fashion on Friday night, defeating Cagliari 2-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium to clinch their fourth Italian crown — and second in three years.

Goals from Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku ensured a triumphant end to a thrilling season, with Inter’s simultaneous 2-0 win at Como — courtesy of Stefan de Vrij and Joaquin Correa — falling just short, leaving them a single point behind their southern rivals.

McTominay set the tone with a sensational bicycle kick three minutes before halftime, connecting perfectly with Matteo Politano’s cross to send the home fans into raptures. Lukaku added Napoli’s second early in the second half, muscling past his marker to slot home after a long ball over the top.

The final whistle sparked jubilant celebrations as flares, smoke, and fireworks lit up Naples. For manager Antonio Conte, the title marks another personal triumph — his third Serie A crown with a different club, following past successes with Juventus and Inter.
