Morocco celebrate U20 World Cup triumph with heroes’ parade in Rabat

Thousands of fans lined the streets of Rabat on Wednesday to celebrate Morocco’s historic Under-20 World Cup triumph, a first for any Arab nation.

The team defeated Argentina 2-0 in Sunday’s final in Santiago, Chile, with Yassir Zabiri scoring both goals to finish as joint top-scorer of the tournament.

Before the parade, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan hosted the squad at the royal palace to honour their achievement. The players later travelled through the capital on an open-top bus amid flag-waving crowds and vuvuzelas.
