Messi to play for MLS side Inter Miami next season

DOHA: Argentina captain Lionel Messi will play for American side Inter Miami next season, according to reports in Spanish media.

The former Barcelona forward is set to reject a more lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal after his exit from French champions Paris St-Germain.

Messi joined PSG in 2021-2022 season but failed to create any big impact after the French club’s dream to win UEFA Champions League remain unfulfilled.

The 35-year-old won the Ballon d’Or award for the world’s best player seven times.

This is the first time Messi will play outside Europe.
