ACL Two: Al Ahli draw 0-0 with Al Khalidiya

Al Ahli of Qatar were held to a goalless draw by Bahrain’s Khalidiya in their Group B opener of the AFC Champions League 2 on Wednesday evening at Al Thumama Stadium.

The match was of average quality, but Al Ahli looked the more dangerous side, especially in the first half when they applied sustained pressure and wasted several clear chances. On the other end, Al Ahli goalkeeper Marwan Sharif was equally impressive, making key saves in the second half to deny the visitors.

The other Group B clash between Uzbekistan’s Andijan and Turkmenistan’s Arkadag also ended in a 0-0 draw, leaving all four teams level on one point each.
