Liverpool edge Girona to maintain perfect Champions League record

Liverpool secured a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Girona, to continue a flawless Champions League group stage campaign with six wins from six matches so far. Despite dominating possession in the first half, the Reds struggled to break down a resilient Girona side and needed a second-half penalty from Mohamed Salah to claim all three points.

The game began with Liverpool on the front foot, controlling 67% of the ball in the opening 30 minutes. However, Girona posed the greater attacking threat, and Liverpool keeper Alisson was kept busy in goal, making key saves to deny Alejandro Frances, Bryan Gil, and Yaser Asprilla.
