Kane marks 100th England cap with double in 2-0 win over Finland

Harry Kane celebrated his 100th England cap in style, netting a second-half brace to secure a 2-0 victory over Finland in the Nations League at Wembley on Tuesday. The England captain became only the third player to score on their century appearance for the national team, joining Wayne Rooney and Sir Bobby Charlton in the elite club.

Kane’s first goal came in the 58th minute, a stunning strike from 20 yards out that cannoned off the crossbar following a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold. He added his second in the 76th minute, finishing from close range after a cross from debutant Noni Madueke.

The 31-year-old Bayern Munich striker, who is England’s all-time leading scorer with 68 goals, was honoured before the match by fellow centurions Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.

Interim boss Lee Carsley secured his second consecutive win, having previously beaten Ireland 2-0. Carsley’s attacking approach has impressed, as England showed flashes of creativity in wet conditions.

With Kane at the forefront, England’s focus now shifts to October’s clash against Greece, as Carsley makes a strong case to take over permanently following Gareth Southgate’s departure.
