Inter Milan’s quest for 20th Serie A title faces hurdle after Cagliari draw

MILAN: lInter Milan’s march towards their 20th Italian league title hit a bump as they were held to a late 2-2 draw by struggling Cagliari in Serie A action. Despite the setback, Inter maintains a commanding 14-point lead over second-placed AC Milan with only six games remaining in the season.

The draw against Cagliari marks the second time in their last four league games that Inter has dropped points. Missing key players like Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard due to suspension, Inter had to rely on replacements Alexis Sanchez and Alessandro Bastoni.

The match saw Marcus Thuram give Inter the lead in the 12th minute, only for Eldor Shomurodov to level the score for Cagliari after the break. Hakan Calhanoglu then restored Inter’s lead from the penalty spot in the 74th minute, but Cagliari fought back once again, with Nicolas Viola finding the equalizer.
