Inter Milan crush Lazio 6-0 in Serie A masterclass

ROME: Defending champions Inter Milan stormed to a commanding 6-0 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday, delivering a clinical performance that stunned the home crowd.
Inter broke through in the 41st minute when Hakan Calhanoglu coolly converted a penalty. Just moments later, Federico Dimarco doubled the lead with a sensational volley, giving the visitors a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
The Nerazzurri came out firing after the break, with Nicolo Barella making it 3-0 in the 51st minute. Lazio’s misery deepened two minutes later as Denzel Dumfries added a fourth. Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram capped off the dominant display with late strikes, sealing the emphatic win.
Despite Lazio starting brightly in the first 30 minutes and Inter’s Stefan de Vrij having an early goal ruled out for offside, the visitors were ruthless in exploiting Lazio’s defensive frailties.
Inter’s victory keeps them third in the table with 34 points from 15 games, just three points behind leaders Atalanta with a game in hand. Lazio, meanwhile, remain fifth with 31 points from 16 matches, suffering their second defeat in three league games after their win against Napoli.
