Harry Kane begins fitness training as Bayern monitor hamstring recovery

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has resumed individual fitness training as he works toward recovering from a hamstring tear, the club confirmed on Thursday.

“Welcome back on the pitch, Harry Kane!” Bayern Munich announced in a statement, signaling positive news for the England captain’s rehabilitation process.

Kane sustained the injury during the first half of Bayern’s 1-1 Bundesliga draw against Borussia Dortmund last Saturday. A subsequent club statement on Sunday revealed a tear in his right hamstring, sidelining the 31-year-old “for the time being.”

The injury forced Kane to miss Bayern’s German Cup Round of 16 clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, where the hosts were eliminated in a 1-0 defeat. Kane was seen supporting his teammates from the stands at the Allianz Arena during the match.

Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany expressed cautious optimism earlier in the week, stating, “We’re hopeful Harry can return before the end of the year.”

Despite his injury, Kane’s impact since joining Bayern in the summer of 2023 remains significant. The striker has netted 20 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions, quickly establishing himself as a key figure for the German champions.

Kane’s return is eagerly anticipated as Bayern look to maintain their push in both domestic and European competitions.
