Flick praises Barcelona’s character in 4-1 win over Sevilla

SEVILLE, Spain: Barcelona manager Hansi Flick expressed pride in his team’s effort and resilience following a commanding 4-1 victory against Sevilla on Sunday. Despite playing the final 30 minutes with ten men, Barcelona controlled the match and sealed the win with a late goal.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for Barca before Fermin Lopez and Raphinha struck early in the second half to make it 3-1. However, Lopez was shown a straight red card in the 60th minute for a dangerous tackle on Djibril Sow.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Barcelona defended resolutely and secured their fourth goal through Eric Garcia’s powerful header in the 89th minute.

“I value this victory so much. They were brilliant out there and showed a lot of character and guts,” Flick told DAZN. “In the first half, we played well, and in the second, we did a good job too. After the red card, we had to fight. It was great to see that we did it and got the win.”(Reuters)
