Flamengo set up Intercontinental Cup final clash with PSG

DOHA: Brazilian giants Flamengo booked their place in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 with a composed 2-0 victory over Egypt’s Pyramids FC in Challenge Cup match on Saturday at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

Danilo opened the scoring in the 24th minute, giving Flamengo early control, before Leo Pereira doubled the advantage shortly after the break in the 52nd minute to seal the win. The Copa Libertadores champions managed the game efficiently, limiting Pyramids FC’s attacking threat while showing their experience on the big stage.

Flamengo’s run to the final has underlined their strong form, having already defeated Mexico’s Cruz Azul 2-1 in the “Derby of the Americas” to reach the semi-finals. Fresh from lifting their fourth Copa Libertadores title, the Brazilian side will now turn their attention to Wednesday’s final, where they are set to face France’s Paris Saint-Germain in a highly anticipated showdown.
