Dzeko returns to Serie A with Fiorentina move

Veteran striker Edin Dzeko has joined Fiorentina on a free transfer after leaving Fenerbahce, the Serie A club confirmed on Thursday.

The 39-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina all-time top scorer signed a one-year contract, with an option for a second season if conditions are met.

Dzeko previously spent six seasons at Roma and two years at Inter Milan, where he lifted the Italian Cup in 2022 and 2023.

Last season, he scored 21 goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

Fiorentina, who finished sixth in Serie A, are set to appoint Stefano Pioli as their new coach.
