Bayern Munich come from behind to defeat Stuttgart 3-1

STUTTGART, Germany: Bayern Munich fought back from a goal down to secure a 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart on Friday, maintaining their commanding lead at the top of the Bundesliga. The win puts Bayern at 61 points, 11 ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, though they have played one match more.

Stuttgart took the lead in the 34th minute when Angelo Stiller fired a stunning left-footed shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. However, Bayern responded just before halftime, with Michael Olise timing his run perfectly to slot home the equalizer in stoppage time.

The reigning champions took control in the second half. Leon Goretzka capitalized on a defensive lapse in the 64th minute, intercepting a loose ball inside the box and finishing calmly to give Bayern a 2-1 lead. Stuttgart’s troubles worsened in the closing moments when Josha Vagnoman’s misplaced back pass was intercepted by Kingsley Coman, who sealed the victory with a composed finish from distance.

With the win, Bayern continue to dominate the Bundesliga, reinforcing their position as favorites for yet another league title.(Reuters)
