Barcelona held to 1-1 draw by Getafe, winless run in LaLiga extends to four matches

MADRID: Barcelona’s struggles in LaLiga continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw against lowly Getafe on Saturday. Mauro Arambarri’s equalizer canceled out Jules Kounde’s early strike, extending Barcelona’s winless streak in the league to four matches.

Jules Kounde opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a well-taken rebound after his initial effort was saved by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria. The French defender latched onto a precise diagonal pass from Pedri, showcasing excellent movement and composure to find the net.

Despite dominating the early exchanges, Barcelona missed the chance to double their lead when Raphinha failed to convert a close-range header from a Kounde cross. Moments later, Getafe capitalized on a mistake by Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena. Pena parried a Coba da Costa volley into the path of Mauro Arambarri, who tapped in the equalizer.

The draw leaves Barcelona in third place on 39 points, trailing second-placed Real Madrid by four points and leaders Atletico Madrid by five. Their inability to turn dominance into victories has become a growing concern as the title race intensifies.
