Amir Cup 2025: Al Rayyan reach final after convincing win over Al Ahli

Al Rayyan booked their place in the Amir Cup final with a 3-0 victory over Al Ahli in their semifinal clash held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Paraguayan striker Adam Bareiro scored twice in the 30th and 37th minutes, while Brazilian forward Roger Guedes sealed the win with a penalty in the 89th minute.
With this win, Al Rayyan advanced to the 19th final in their history as they chase a seventh Amir Cup title. They now await the winner of the other semifinal between Al Gharafa and Umm Salal.
Al Rayyan asserted early dominance, showing a strong desire to score from the start. Their efforts paid off when a set-piece led to a ball falling to Adam Bareiro, who fired it past the goalkeeper to open the scoring in the 30th minute.
Al Ahli attempted to equalize by applying pressure, but Al Rayyan relied on quick transitions and earned another set-piece. The ball once again found Bareiro inside the box, and he made no mistake, doubling the lead in the 37th minute.
The first half ended with Al Rayyan leading 2-0.
In the second half, Al Ahli improved and controlled more of the game as they looked to reduce the deficit. Substitute Abdulrasheed Ibrahim came close with a powerful shot from the edge of the box that went just wide in the 78th minute.
Al Rayyan extended their lead in the 89th minute after Moroccan midfielder Idriss Fettouhi fouled Hazem Ahmed inside the box. Roger Guedes stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to make it 3-0. Al Rayyan then held on to their lead until the final whistle to secure a spot in the final.
