Al Gharafa jumps to fourth position

DOHA: Al Gharafa defeated Qatar SC 3-1 in the fifth round match of Qatar Stars League at the Khalifa International Stadium on Sunday.

Ahmed Al Janahi (10th minute), Yacine Brahimi (30th minute penalty) and Joselu (72nd minute) scored for The Cheetahs.

Sebastian Soria (41st minute) pulled one back for Qatar SC.

Their second win in the league saw Al Gharafa move into the top four with eight points (ahead of Al Wakrah on goal difference). Qatar SC remained on three points in 11th place.

Al Ahli hold Al Arabi 3-3

Al Ahli played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Al Arabi at Al Thumama Stadium.

Julian Draxler scored a brace for Al Ahli in the 76th and 90th minutes respectively after Oumar Sekou had given them an early lead from the penalty spot in the ninth minute.

Al Arabi, still winless in the competition, scored through Ahmed Alaaeldin (39th minute penalty and 65th minutes). Former Tunisian star Yousef Msakni scored a stoppage-time goal.

Al Wakrah beat Al Rayyan

At Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Al Wakrah beat Al Rayyan 2-0 in the fifth round action.

Jacinto Dala (seventh minute) and Ricardo Gomes (36th minute) netted the goals as needed Wakrah moved to eight points in the standings.

Al Rayyan remained on six points.
