Al Ahly seal 45th Egyptian Premier League title in style with 6-0 rout of Pharco

CAIRO:Al Ahly clinched a record-extending 45th Egyptian Premier League title on Wednesday with a resounding 6-0 victory over Pharco, capping their campaign in dominant fashion.

Wesam Abou Ali was the star of the show, netting four goals in a sensational performance and assisting Hussein Elshahat for the fifth. Imam Ashour added the final touch in stoppage time, sealing Al Ahly’s third consecutive league crown.

The emphatic win saw the Cairo giants finish with 58 points, edging past rivals Pyramids by two points.

However, controversy lingers off the pitch. Local media reports that Pyramids have taken their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, contesting Al Ahly’s failure to show up for a March fixture against Zamalek. The Egyptian Professional Football Club Association initially imposed a three-point deduction on Al Ahly, but reversed the decision after the club appealed to the local Olympic Committee.

Despite the legal dispute, Al Ahly’s commanding final-day display underlined their domestic dominance, adding yet another chapter to their storied legacy.
