Adeyemi stars as Dortmund defeat Heidenheim 4-2 to go top of Bundesliga
DORTMUND, Germany: Karim Adeyemi delivered a stellar performance, scoring twice and assisting another as Borussia Dortmund secured a 4-2 victory over Heidenheim on Friday. The win, Dortmund’s second in three Bundesliga matches, took them provisionally to the top of the table.
Adeyemi set the tone early, assisting Donyell Malen in the 12th minute for the opening goal. He doubled Dortmund’s advantage just five minutes later with a superb finish following a swift counter-attack. Though Marvin Pieringer’s header in the 39th minute offered Heidenheim brief hope, Adeyemi struck again before halftime, restoring Dortmund’s two-goal cushion with a precise low drive.
New signing Serhou Guirassy, making his debut after recovering from injury, played a key role in Adeyemi’s second goal, using a clever dummy to allow the ball to reach the German forward. The victory brings Dortmund’s points tally to seven, putting them one point ahead of Heidenheim and provisionally at the summit of the Bundesliga.
