QFA launches FIFA Workshop for technical experts

DOHA: A FIFA workshop for Technical Experts was launched by the Qatar Football Association (QFA) with around 100 experts and coaches including former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger taking part. 

Fahd Thani, Director of the Development Department of QFA was also present at the opening ceremony of the workshop that will last for five days.

World-class coaches such as Germany’s Erik Reutemüller, April Dawn Heinrichs of the US and Englishman Stephen McLaren were also present.

The opening ceremony started with remarks from  QFA Secretary General Mansoor Al Ansari, who welcomed the participants on behalf of QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Al Ansari said Qatar remains proud to host the workshop for the second year in running.

He thanked FIFA for taking such events to Qatar where QFA underlines great importance in contributing positively to the game’s development on and off the field.

Wenger stressed the importance of continuous work towards developing the football system and its affiliates, especially coaches.

For his part, FIFA coach  Martinez thanked the QFA for hosting the workshop and for putting in effort to take the game forward through help of the game’s experts. 

He said that the important thing is that all the federations work closely with FIFA so that the development of the game away from the field bears fruit in quick time.

The workshop will continue on a daily basis from 11 am until 7:3opm.
