Field visit and learning opportunities at Aspire Zone Foundation’s summer camp for kids

Doha, Qatar: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) finalised the field visit schedule for the second edition of the Summer Camp for kids which is scheduled to kick off on 7th July. It aims to offer interesting educational opportunities for children aged between six and 13 years.
The field visits scheduled for the Summer Camp programme will take in renowned landmarks across the country, including the National Museum of Qatar. The visit to the museum will provide children with a rich educational and cultural opportunity and acquaint them with the heritage of the State of Qatar through interactive chronological displays. Children will also learn about the origins of Qatar’s 700 million-year-old geological history. Kids will get to know more about their ancestors and the establishment of old cities, as well as the rapid modernization of Qatari society and its people.
One of the most important stations planned on the weekly visits is the Thuraya Planetarium at the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara. It will teach them about astronomical bodies in an interactive and engaging way, expanding their horizons and hopefully inspiring them to study science in the future. The visit will also provide panoramic views of space, stars and galaxies as well as comets and other elements of the solar system. The dome is characterized by its 2D and 3D displays, supported by a high-quality sound system which offers a unique and exciting experience of the wonders of the universe.
AZF’s summer programme will also entail a visit to KidZania Doha, where children can independently choose from more than 60 real-life fun activities in a safe and secure kid-sized city. Designed by educators for children aged 4-14, KidZania blends learning and reality with entertainment. Activities range from Doctor, Dentist, Police Officer to Firefighter, Actor and Singer. KidZania also offers much more, with its own currency, economy, ideas and positivity for a better world.
The camp’s programme includes a variety of sporting activities, including athletics, gymnastics, aerobics, long jump, tennis, badminton, swimming lessons and training sessions in basketball, handball, taekwondo, football and volleyball.
The summer camp is organised in partnership with the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, KidZania, the National Museum of Qatar, the Cage Sport, Planet Medical Center and the STEM Xplorers.
