England women football team to train in Doha

Doha: Coached by former England and Manchester United star Phil Neville, the English women squad

will be training at the Aspire Academy here from tomorrow until January 21, Qatar Football Association (QFA)

said in a statement .

The English squad’s visit to Doha is part of the arrangement between QFA and the English Football Association (FA) last year in February.

England, who have won the FIFA World Cup four times and reached the quarterfinals thrice (1995, 2007 and 2011), are conducting the training camp in preparation for this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Fourth-ranked England, who finished third in the last edition, are paired with Japan, Scotland and Argentina.

With Aspire Academy providing for state-of-the-art facilities, 10 different European clubs will be seen in action during this month. French giants PSG started their training camp on Monday with KAS Eupen, Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven have already landed in the Qatari capital.
