Aspire Zone kicks off week-long Qatar National Day at Aspire Park
Doha: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) started off the week-long Qatar National Day celebration here at the Aspire Park on Thursday evening.
The festivities began with the arrival of Al Adaam Flag Relay, organised by the Qatar Olympic Committee in collaboration with AZF.
The relay culminated in a Grand Finale at the Aspire Park in the presence of VIP dignitaries.
The attendees were also treated to a Military Parade by members of the Qatar Armed Forces’ National Service.
This will also take place at the Aspire Lake tomorrow from 6 PM to 9 PM and from 4 PM to 6 PM till December 18.
Another highlight of the event was an intricate parasailing performance conducted by the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), which descended from the sky in different formations on the park behind the lake near Al Furousiya Street.
This year’s celebrations at Aspire will also see one of the largest fireworks which can be viewed across Aspire Park between 8:30PM and 9PM on December 17.
Among the other events planned is a celebration for AZF employees comprised of a range of cultural activities, including the traditional “Ardha” sword dance, performed by Aspire Academy student-athletes.
