Al Adaa Saeed Farhan, Laila Salem win Aspire Academy 6K race

Doha, Qatar: Al Adaa Saeed Farhan won Aspire Academy’s 6k cross-country run on Saturday.

Saeed Farhan finished the race in 17 minutes and 30 seconds while Laila Salem clocked 32 minutes and 56 seconds to win the women’s category.

The third edition of 3K and 6K runs organized by Aspire Academy’s saw the participation of 16 student-athletes and over 100 recreational runners from schools, sports clubs, and sports enthusiasts across Qatar.

Renowned athletes in Qatar and the region, including Qatar's triathlete, Abdulla Al-Humaidi and Kuwaiti triathlete Jassim Al-Ostath, also took part in the event.

The cross-country run comes as part of Aspire Academy’s celebratory activities for Qatar National Day 2018. Stemming from its keenness to promote an active and healthy lifestyle, Aspire Academy organised this run for both genders, aged 12 years and above.

In the 3K run, Dery Youssef secured first place after finishing the race in 8 minutes and 56 seconds, whilst Natasha Cros clinched the first position for females as she clocked 11 minutes and 37 seconds.
