Syria not an easy team to play, says Dejagah

Doha-based Iran forward Ashkan Dejagah urged his team-mates to take it step by step as they look to beat Syria at a neutral venue in Malaysia in their 2018 World Cup qualification on November 15 and consolidate their position at the top of Group A.

Iran had registered an impressive 1-0 win over tough rivals South Korea in Tehran in the last round.

“We’ve to think step by step as the next game against Syria is going to be a hard one,” said Dejagah.

“They aren’t an easy team to play and we’ve to focus well. Hopefully, we can play the same way as we did against South Korea. I think we’re in a good position, but there’re still a lot of games and a lot of points,” he said.
