Sixth Torch Staircase Run on March 18

REGISTRATION is open for the Sixth Aspire Torch Staircase Run, to be held on March 18.

The event, organised by the Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), will see runners aiming to climb 1,304 steps and make their way to the 51st floor of the 300M Torch hotel in shortest time.

The run, held in various categories, is open to public. Those who are above 16 years of age can compete.

AZF Events Manager Abdullah Al Khater said, “Since its launch in 2012 as a first-of-its-kind event in the Middle East, the Aspire Torch Staircase Run has become a key event on Qatar’s sports calendar.

“As part of our mission to build a culture of physical activity and healthy lifestyle in Qatar, we’re keen to engage all community members in the various sports programmes organised by the Aspire Zone.

“We encourage all sports enthusiasts in Qatar to take part in the run as a way to challenge themselves and discover their true potential. The competition requires a high level of fitness and endurance, but everyone is welcome to attempt the summit and give it their best shot,” added Al Khater.
