Rea is all but assured of title
Briton Jonathan Rea needs just two points to retain the title as the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) is into the final round.
Rea has 462 points and is 48 ahead of compatriot Tom Sykes after the penultimate round in Jerez, Spain, last Sunday where he finished second.
Another Englishman, Chaz Davies, who won in Jerez, is third in standings with 395 points and is mathematically out of title contention.
With 50 points up for the grabs in two races at Losail International Circuit, Rea is all but assured of his second title in a row.
History beckons Rea at Qatar as the 29-year-old will become the first rider to seal back-to-back WSBK titles since Carl Fogarty in 1999.
