It’s over to implementation

QATAR Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary General Dr Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari sounded upbeat about Kun Riyadi’s success.

With ASPIRE Academy handing over the development pathway to the QOC, the onus is on it to carry the good work forward.

“The planning is finished. Now it’s over to implementation. It may be difficult, but not impossible,” said Al Kuwari.

The Kun Riyadi strives to produce elite and consistent performers. It also seeks to provide opportunities for all children to grow in confidence and stay healthy.

“We’ll try to improvise on what Aspire has done. The Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is keen on developing sports. With projects like Kun Riyadi, we can work towards realisation of the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The QOC official exhorted all to take up sports at a young age.

“The military training helps you learn discipline in life. Just like that, sports teach you a lot of values in life and the earlier you embrace it, the better for you. Forward planning is the need of the hour and for that young athletes should take the a lead role,” he concluded.
