Gaerne to sponsor World Superbike legs
ITALIAN motorcycle footwear brand Gaerne will be the sponsor of the World Superbike Championship’s (WSBK) remaining legs in Jerez, Spain (October 16), and Losail, Qatar (October 30).
An agreement to this effect was signed between Gaerne and WSBK Organisation last week.
Hence, the penultimate round at Jerez will be known as the Gaerne Spanish Round and season-ending Losail race to be held under lights has been renamed as the Gaerne Qatar Round.
As part of the deal, the Italian brand will feature prominently both on the trackside and in the paddock at Jerez and Losail circuits.
“WorldSBK stands for pure motorsport performance and the philosophy of Gaerne matches that perfectly. Top-level motorcycling is made possible through the synergy and co-operation of all those involved and we’re proud to count on sponsors such as Gaerne,” said WSBK Commercial and Marketing Director Marc Saurina.
Qatar has plenty to look for in the WSBK’s final round. For the first time in a decade, they will have a rider of their own in Saeed Al Sulaiti, who competes for Team Pedercini with the solid backing of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation.
