Easy for Doha 2, Blue Phoenix

BLUE Phoenix opened their campaign in the inaugural Qatar 15s League on a winning note, beating Veterans 46-8 at the Aspire ground last week.

In another match, Doha 2 posted an easy 75-21 win over Pirates.

Meanwhile, Al Khor received a bye against Lions, who pulled out of the competition after being unable to field enough players.

With Lions’ withdrawal, it has become a five-team tournament.

“All matches involving the Lions have been cancelled and other teams

will receive a bye with no points,” said Qatar Rugby Federation’s Senior Co-ordinator Samuel Rico.

The semifinals will be played on December 9 and final on December 16. DSP
