Al Nuaimi elected Asian billiards chief

Qatar’s Mohammed Salem Al Nuaimi was unanimously elected as the new president of Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports.
He succeeds compatriot Mubarak Hamad Al Khayareen, who did not seek re-election as he has been heading the International Billiards and Snooker Federation since November, 2016.
The election, held at the General Assembly during the 33rd Asian Snooker Championship last week, was attended by representatives of all 24 member countries.
Al Nuaimi, who has been elected for a three-year term, is an administrator of proven calibre and currently holds the post of Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation general secretary.
“I’ll be continuing all the good work that my predecessor has initiated. It’s now my duty to promote all forms of cue sports across Asia. We’ll take steps to market the game more on the continent and try to bring in more spectators,” said Al Nuaimi.
