Adam happy with his players’ performance

QATARI Yousef Adam, who replaced Croat Luka Bonacic as Al Ahli coach last week, said he was happy with his players’ performance and added that he wanted to make the most of the international break to make it better.

“Al Rayyan have a lot of top-quality players, but we fared well against them. We tried to take the lead, but we weren’t lucky. Rayyan were better than us in the first half, but we tried to come back in the second,” said Adam.

“We’re trying to play in a new way and I’m satisfied with my players’ fighting spirit. I’m happy that the league will now stop for two weeks as I can use it effectively to teach my team the style we should be adopting.

“We played with a false No.9, but I’m confident that either Meshaal Abdullah or Kissito Yessoh can fit into a specialist striker’s role,” said Adam.
